A widow removes her rings

August 21, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

June 14, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

I initially entered the field of Emergency Services because around the age of 11, I was told I would be too short to lift anyone into an ambulance.  Really? …

June 2, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

I  was looking for a RV park along the ocean near one of the redwood state parks.  According to the RV Parky app, Shoreline RV Park fit the criteria.   This was our first stay in a city/county park as this RV park is managed by the local government (http://crescentcity.org/)

Scarred but beautiful

May 29, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

Mount St Helens, 27 May 2018

I sit here gazing at this large crater.  This huge rock with a big scar.  Parts of it are strewn across the landscape – moved by the inertia of power from within that had to escape the confines of its earthy shell prison; …

My budget aged 50 Days!

May 10, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

As I reconciled my budget for the day, my eye consistently wandered to the top right corner of my YNAB* screen.  It yells at me … 50 Days!

I should be enthusiastic that my budget is in the green & my available cash has ‘aged’ beyond 30 days.  I should be excited I have accomplished YNAB rule #4 to live on last months’ income.  But I am not.  It brings me to tears.

This widow’s journey begins

May 10, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

While Steve was preparing his oceanography curriculum, he was intrigued by the changes to the ecosystem since the Mount St Helens eruption.  As he analyzed the data, he tossed aside assumed conclusions and simply focused on the data before him.   Steve’s mind began to marvel in ways of God with a new hunger.  I think it may be the perfect place to say my goodbyes.
