A widow removes her rings

August 21, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

When is it time for a widow to remove her wedding rings?  The answer is whenever, if ever.  I knew in June after returning from Mount St Helens that I would no longer wear my wedding rings.  I took them off and set them in the velvet lined drawer next my Beloved’s ring.

Pie Weights and Reckless Love

August 18, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

A good cup of coffee and savory breakfast complements my morning musing with God. The song ‘Reckless Love‘ is playing over and over in my mind. Scarred but beautiful

May 29, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

Mount St Helens, 27 May 2018

This widow’s journey begins

May 10, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

While Steve was preparing his oceanography curriculum, he was intrigued by the changes to the ecosystem since the Mount St Helens eruption.  As he analyzed the data, he tossed aside assumed conclusions and simply focused on the data before him.   Steve’s mind began to marvel in ways of God with a new hunger.  I think it may be the perfect place to say my goodbyes.

What’s in a name?

April 22, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

I am the type of mother that calls her kids every name but their given one.  Maggie is my Moo-shine, Moonshine, Moo-la-roo, Maggie-Moo, Ma-roo-loo, Lucy-loo, Loo-bee-loo, and Snickerdoo.  And anything similar that escapes my lips.  I am not sure where “Lucy” came from as it has nothing to do with her given name. …
