My budget aged 50 Days!

May 10, 2018 //  by Sheila Schwartz

As I reconciled my budget for the day, my eye consistently wandered to the top right corner of my YNAB* screen.  It yells at me … 50 Days!

I should be enthusiastic that my budget is in the green & my available cash has ‘aged’ beyond 30 days.  I should be excited I have accomplished YNAB rule #4 to live on last months’ income.  But I am not.  It brings me to tears.

The only reason I am here is because my husband died.  I am a widow with no job.  It has been 50 days since I budgeted the insurance proceeds.  Yea, yippee for me…

So I sing.  I sing a song of praise.  A song that emerges from my deepest memories for during these moments of sorrow my active mind is blank.   And as I sing, His joy fills the emptiness.  Come sing with me…

* my YNAB is a referral link, check it out, even take it for a free spin for a month.  Using my referral link provides me a savings only if you choose to subscribe to YNAB.
